The quilting ladies at WCBC have been hard at work! We have completed many prayer quilts for community members with needs.... illness, births, travels, job changes, encouragement...Each of these quilts is uniquely designed, carefully assembled, and most importantly prayed over. As the ties are tied, prayers go up for the needs of the recipient.

is for the Lewis family. Tami (wife,
mother) was diagnosed with cancer
recently and passed away leaving her husband and 5 boys.

Tami
was born to Wendell and Dieanna Powell July 3, 1969 in Akron, Iowa. Tami grew
up on a farm near Egan, South Dakota. She attended college at SDSU and USD.
While working at Sioux Valley Hospital she met her husband Jay. They married
September 28, 1996 at Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. They built their
lives together while living in Sioux Falls, and recently on an acreage north of
Sioux Falls. Tami shared great joy in homeschooling her children, mothering
them and being a devoted wife. Tami loved to read, sit in the sun and spend
time with her family.
Tami is survived by her husband, Jay Lewis, their five sons Jonah, Simon, Caden, Sam and Ezra, her parents Wendell and Dieanna Powell, brother Travis and his wife Briana, Jay's parents Wesley and Diann Lewis, and Jay's siblings, spouses and nieces and nephews - Kim and Cheryl Lewis, Robert and Tina Buri, Loren and Pam Rowland.
