Star and Rosa February 2014


Star and Rosa are foster children of Holly's sister Stacia and husband Seth.  They were recently returned to their birth mother.  We prayed for their safety and well being in this transition.  We prayed for Stacia and Seth for comfort in this time of letting go.

Don was recently diagnosed with cancer and entered Hospice Care.  We prayed for peace for him and his family.  We prayed for his wife Pat who is taking care of him.  We prayed for comfort for them all. 

Don Gross, age 70, died at his home under the care of Madison Hospice on February 12, 2014. He was born on December 5, 1943 at Freeman, SD to Erwin and Elizabeth (Tschetter) Gross. He married Patricia Graber at Freeman on Sept 3, 1967. He is survived by his wife Patricia of Madison. One son - Capt Matthew Gross of Lamp Arena-Herat, Afghanistan. one daughter - Jennifer Gross (Jason Maxwell) of Madison. Daughter - in - law - Jennifer (Nathan) Nash of Madison five grandchildren Anna, Mya, Bella, Delilah, Sienna. One brother - Harley (Diane) of Madison. He preceded in death by his parents and a son - Marcus in 2004. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2014 a the United Methodist Church in Madison with Rev Barry Whipkey officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Hutterthal Cemetery in Freeman. He grew up in Freeman graduating from Freeman Academy in 1961 and Freeman Jr College in 1963. He served in the US Army stationed in Germany from 1963 to 1966. He returned to South Dakota and graduated from General Beadle State College in 1970. He worked at SIC Finance and Norwest Bank before becoming finance and lease director for Prostrollo Motors where he worked for 31 years retiring in 2010. He was a past president of Madison Rotary where he was a member for 44 years. He also served on the finance committee at the United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Bethel Home Board of Directors. Chamber of Commerce Past President and a director of the Madison Golf and Country Club and Ducks Unlimited. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM on Friday at the Madison United Methodist Church. The family requests memorials be directed to the Madison United Methodist Church.
