542. Dee Dickson 543, 544, 545 Kay Odle, Beth, Ellah 546. Laura 547.Maddie January 2019

January 23 2019

Good morning ladies.  The sun is brightly shinning.
We had a busy but very good night last night thanks to all of you faithful ladies.
We did quilts for

542.  Dee Dickson, Stephanie’s mom,…who will be having surgery for some breast cancer in Feb.
543, 544, 545.   Kay Odle…she was beaten by her son….son died…husband died in Nov…..also did a quilt for Kay’s daughter, Beth, and one for her 4 year old grand daughter.  Kay’s husband was like our area pastors for churches like Sun Prairie

 546. Nikki’s friend, Laura,…..Laura’s special brother and only relative committed suicide

547.  Maddie, a friend of my niece in Parker.  Maddie is in the 8th grade and is waiting to receive a new heart…she is the oldest of four children.
There are 5 Tues. in Jan. so it will be three weeks before the next quilting night…..Feb. 12th.  Does anyone want to bring a treat next time?

Some of you wanted the recipe for Christmas Crack so here goes:
Combine 1 12.8 ounce Box Rice Chex cereal, 1 12 ounce box Golden Grahams cereal, 1 7 ounce bag shredded coconut, 1 4 ounce bag slivered almonds in a large mixing bowl. Stir to combine.
In a large sauce pan, cook 1 ½ cups butter, 2 cups sugar, 2 cups corn syrup to the “soft Ball stage..about 234 degrees on a candy thermometer.  Pour over cereal mixture and stir until all is well coated.  (I stirred it several times so it would not all stick together)  Pour mixture out onto 2 large cookie sheets to cool.  Stir it around occasionally to prevent clumping.  I left it out and stirred it several times for several hours.  (I test it each time to make sure it tasted OK)  Store in an airtight container then hide it so you don’t eat too much of it in one day…….no calories!!!!!!

Pray for Holly that she will rid of the nasty bug and for Karen that she may continue to heal.
Thanks to Nikki Troxell fpr taking pictures!

Remember ladies it takes each one of us to make a quilt…each job is important.
Enjoy your week and remember to CHOOSE JOY!!!!
Love to each one of you,
 Joyce
