August 27 2019 601.Lynn C. 602.Keith N. 603.Kandi W. 604.Steve. 605.Danielle A.

Good morning ladies on a beautiful fall morning.
Last night was a busy but very good night.  We did quilts for

601.  Lynn Cecil…….Lynn fell and broke several ribs….it is very painful……

602.  Keith Nelson….who fell and broke ribs…..

603.  Amy Meehan’s friend, Kandi Werner,…..Kandi is very sick with cancer in many places…..

604.  Joel Molascon’s  uncle Steve……Steve will be having a second back surgery………

605.  Danielle A….Danielle will be having a hysterectomy next week.

Continue to pray for each of these individuals……continue to pray for Mary Kenyon as she recovers from hip surgery.
I think we have enough quilts made for the policeman.  We will try to do that on Sept. 24th.
We will wait and party in December.  You have all been very generous with me on Christmas.  This year instead of giving to me I want each one of you to pick out a piece of fabric for our quilting and bring it to our Christmas party.  Pick out something that you really like.  It will be fun to see what everybody’s personality comes out to be in color.  Pick out 100% cotton.  Joanne’s fabric’s usually has a good sale…..also Hobby Lobby has 30% off.  It is up to you how much to get.  When I get a piece I usually go for 3 yards……that works for a couple of quilts.  You can give 1 yard or 50……whatever.
Next work night is Sept. 10th.
Have a wonderful rest of the week.
Love to all of you,
Joyce

*****600.  for our own Amy Meehan…….yesterday was Amy’s fathers funeral….Amy has had a hard year…continue to pray for her but the big news she gets the 600th quilt……..

We prayed for Mary Kenyon.  Mary will have a new hip on Monday.  Karen Logan is going good after having hardware removed from her elbow yesterday.  Josiah, Stephanie’s active son, burned his forehead on the grill last night.  He has a second degree burn.  He has a doctor’s appointment on Thursday.
Thanks everyone for welcoming Hannah Ely.  She really enjoyed her evening.  Pray for Hannah as she receives more training in Texas.  She leaves on Monday.
Thanks Marian for the good dessert and also Hannah for the cookies.
When are we going to have a 600th quilt party?????????????  I think we need to get the policemen taken care of.  I counted this morning and there are 14 quilts that would work for men that are completed.  There are 10 quilts ready to be quilted and I think 8 of them would work for men…..that is now counting what we sewed last night.  I’m thinking the last quilting night in September which is the 24th should be policemen night……..what do you think.   You know counting the finished quilts and ones in progress we are almost at 650……we are amazing……….a good mission.
May we continue to enjoy our mission.   CHOOSE JOY
Love, Joyce

Our next quilt night will be July 9th.   It is our regular night.  Mark your calendars for each 2ndand 4th Tuesdays of the month except for December.  We only meet once in Dec. to have our party…..no sewing that month.  Our year is half gone already.
Thank you each one of you for your faithfulness to our mission.  It is wonderful.  We can’t all be together each time but may we continue to pray for each other.  We are sisters in Christ.  We have a wonderful time even when I have to crack the whip.  May what we do truly be from our hearts.  I don’t always hear of special needs so be sure to let me know if someone has been forgotten.
I truly love you all.  You are my JOY.
Joyce
We all have good reasons to get grouchy: discouraging news, everyday stresses, health problems.  Nevertheless, God can give us a JOY that transcends these conditions if we ask Him.  We can have what Jesus called, “MY JOY” (John 15:11).                                                   Taken from Our Daily Bread devotional

PS:  Here is the recipe of the cake some of you asked for.  The cake I brought to the women’s potluck

Frosting
Cook over med. Heat until a little thickened about 5-6 min. 1 stick butter, ¾ cup evaporated mile and 1 cup sugar then add 1 cup chopped nuts, 1 cup shredded coconut and 1 tsp. vanilla.

How can you slow down and notice the work of God’s hands right now?
How can you encourage others to do the same?

If we stop, look, and listen, we’ll see creation declaring God’s glory.
