April 27, 2020 A Letter from Joyce

GOOD AFTERNOON

Good afternoon ladies.  What a beautiful day.
I just thought I needed to pop in and tell you how much I miss each one of you and how much I appreciate each one of you.  Sometime soon I think we will be able to meet together.  We probably won’t get much done on the quilts the first time.  We just need time to catch up with one another.

Some of us enjoyed our Zoom night together on April 28th.  Our next Zoom night is May 12th at 7:15-8:15.  Put that on your calendar.

Many of you have helped to continue to make quilts.  Yesterday I counted….we have 20 quilts that are all done…. 16 that are done and just need the ties….6 are out getting the binding sewed…..8 need pinning….and 6 are in the process of sewing……total is 56 quilts….amazing.  I was hoping for around 56 so we got there.  We have around 16 on our list to give quilts to so we will be busy for the summer.  I was hoping that by fall that we could give to the firemen.  With your continued faithfulness that will be possible.

Remember  no matter what you do to make our Prayer Quilts a continued mission……….EVERY step is important…….but most of all the prayers……may we continue to pray for one another.

God loves you and so do I.
Joyce

April 7 2020. More Covid19 news..

As we are unable to gather to quilt together we decided to do a Zoom meeting; some of us old gals had a bit of a challenge but were able to make it work!  So good to see your faces, hear your laughs and comments (even though everyone wanted to talk at the same time!

Decided to make it a recurring event until we can finally get back together and back to work!

Joyce is still working hard to supply the hospital and health care workers with masks; and now isolation gowns!  Someday she will run out of supplies (elastic, bias tape, fabric...) but she will never run out of energy!
Bless you all my quilting friends!

March 25 2020. Corona Virus

Thanks to those of you who have helped out with the surgical masks and those who have taken home work.  It is a great project that we can help out with.  If anyone wants to stop by and get some of the supplies that I have ready it would be great.
Hope that each one of you is doing fine.  God is good we just need to do what is right at this time.  We are making history……we thought 2019 was history but just look at today.
Put JOY in your day.
Love, Joyce

70 masks were delivered to Valiant Living on April 2 2020:

Good morning ladies.  What a beautiful morning with all the frost on the trees……another one of God’s touches.
We had a great night last night.  We had a great night because of the faithfulness of EACH one of you……remember you are all very important in this mission.  May God continue to bless this mission…..it is all about the prayer’s.

We did quilts for:
665. Erin is a young 34 year old with two little boys and a husband.  She has very aggressive breast cancer……

666. Corleen, a relative of Joyce, dealing with breast cancer…..

667. Mark Hollingsworth who had back surgery…….

668.  Kendrick a little baby dealing with many health issues……

669.for Roger Schrepel who will be having extensive shoulder surgery on Friday.

Keep each one of these individuals in prayer.
Don’t forget the bridal shower for Amanda (Rowland) Zacharias on Feb. 8th.  Amanda came to help with the prayer quilts a couple of years ago.
Be on the alert for anyone who could use our prayers.  It is so wonderful to have a rack full of quilts again.  If there is a need they are ready.
Next quilt night is February 11th.
You are all special to me and to God.
Love, Joyce
Like roses in a garden, kindness fills the air
With a certain bit of sweetness as it touches everywhere.
For kindness is a circle that never, never ends
But just keeps ever-widening in the circle of our friends.
For the more you give, the more you get is proven every day,
And so to get the most from life you must give yourself away.
