September 24, 2019. Law Enforcement night; #612-638

Good morning ladies on another nice fall day.
Last night was another good and busy night.  It was a different schedule.  Many quilts were pinned and then time was spent on getting the quilts ready for the policemen.  Quilts and thank you cards were given to each one on our police force.  Three men came to accept our gift of quilts…..Deputy Micah Hofman, Sgt. Dan Wyatt, and Sgt. Isaac Kurtz accepted the 24 quilts that we had made.  Micah and Isaac had received one earlier.    Micah and Isaac stayed for treats and shared some of their experiences.
We had a time of prayer for the police force.  We also made one for Derek, the man who pulled my car out onto the street……we all need second chances.   Pray for Derek that his life may be changed.
In May we made a quilt and prayed for Melanie Weiss.  Melanie is an optometrist in Watertown who became addicted to painkillers following several surgeries.  Melanie is now sharing her very painful story to help others.  She will be speaking at the high school on Oct. 9th.  It would be great if several of us could attend and personally hear her story.  I think it is at 7:00.  I’m sure it will be in the Daily Leader.
Thanks to each one of you for your support and help in our mission.  May we continue to make a little difference in many lives.  God is good.
Love you all, Joyce

This was on the tag of the tee shirts that Deann gave us from Thrivent…….I thought it was so good:
Life’s not about having more.  It’s about doing more with what you have.
